Is it time to change the laws of copyright?
I read an article stating that since the current laws seem inapplicable, the law must be reduced to a point where it is due, instead of having a generation that are acceptable to break the law? The reasoning said the theory is that the loss of respect law leads to the loss of respect in other areas. Photographers, how would you react?
I do not think the law needs to change – should be executed. I do not think a criminal complaint against the violation be – because it is already on the books, but is only invoked in cases of serious violations, such as hitting out of 100,000 DVD of the latest Hollywood blockbusters. Our culture of the law and lack of personal accountability is the problem. Mom and Dad need some stretching *** and inculcate the moral conscience of their children. Apply existing laws, take a few in jail and see how quickly children learn not to steal. These range from music, books and movies as well.
