Excel Scatter Chart help?
I'm trying to plot the data using the days of the week (Monday-Sunday) X axis, and time as the shaft (12:00 am, 1:00 am … etc). Is not it possible in excel? If not, what is an alternative I can use? My company trying to see what days and times you get the most of sales opportunities.
With an XY scatter plot, the X and Y must be numeric. There are two ways you could do what they are asking:-X non-numeric. Axis ("Text") Make a "line" type graphics and plot only the y-axis "Time" data. The X axis initially only 1,2,3 … You can then click the line graph and select Data Source. In the Series tab, you can define a cell range text labels the X-axis. numeric x axis instead of the cells with the X axis text, such as Monday, Tuesday, etc, have actual dates as 11 2 2009, 11 3 2009 etc Format those cells with a custom format "dddd", showing dates, because only the day of the week. Then do an XY scatter. The dates are still numerous, but appear as the day of the week ..
